Host a March Madness partyand cheer on your favorite NCAA college teams with your friends.
Every game counts, and the matchups are spread out over nearly a month, so there are plenty of party-worthy times. Don’t let the tip-off catch you unprepared—start planning your March Madness party right now!
Where to host your party
Whether you choose to host at home or go out to a sports bar, make sure you plan ahead. Visit several sports bars in person and talk to the manager to find out what accommodations they offer. Multiple big screen TVs, buffet tables, and a cleanup crew are a few of the benefits of hosting outside the home.
If you’d rather keep your revelry residential, steer clear of the one-room party model. Michelle Hylton, a St. Louis party consultant with PartyShelf.com, recommends having TVs on in several areas of the house, as well as a computer available for streaming untelevised games. “Basketball is such a fast-paced game that it’s easy to miss something,” Hylton says. “More TVs give you a better chance of catching all the excitement.”
Keep your guests entertained
Timeouts and halftime leave plenty of unoccupied minutes to fill. Keep your guests entertained with a variety of fun activities:
Ahead of the party, send out brackets for your guests to complete. Award a prize for the best bracket as the results roll in (consider a prize for the most off-the-mark brackets, too!).
As guests arrive, have them estimate the halftime and final scores. Give a prize to the person with the closest guess.
And don’t forget the food. Try Bucknum’s Hot Wings from the Spring Edition of the Associa Family Cookbook.
