Spring Tabletop Ideas to Brighten Your Home

By Kristin Hull

Beautiful and unique tabletop displays brighten up your home for spring. Use the season’s natural colors, light scents, and textures.

Virginia Ficarra, Detroit’s home makeover maven and founder of design consulting business Smart Home Moves, explains tabletop decorating as an easy and inexpensive way to freshen up your rooms, show your style, and commemorate holidays.

Quick and easy ideas

Ficarra offers simple suggestions to revitalize any room:

  • Utilize nature’s beauty: Gather some sprigs of parsley or basil and insert small bunches into several tiny white vases of varying styles and heights (learn more ways to decorate with white). Set them lengthwise along the center of a table either side-by-side or spread apart from end to end.
  • Juice it up: Slice lemons into ¼-inch rounds and put them in a clear pitcher with water. Then, add some yellow tulips. The fruit provides a lovely visual and prolongs the life of the flowers.
  • Play with color: Cover your table with a sky-blue tablecloth and set a clear water pitcher containing lavender and white flowers in the center.
  • Celebrate Easter: Take a trip to your local craft store for a wooden or ceramic bunny, some pastel-colored egg-shaped candles, glass votives, and a square unframed mirror. Set the rabbit in the middle of the table on the mirror and encircle it with the candles.

Anyone can put flowers into a vase but now you have the tools to make your tables just a little more special.
