Using a professional cleaning service can not only make your home sparkle, but it can save you time and energy. If cleanliness is next to godliness, then many people consider a cleaning service to be nothing short of heaven.
Not cleaning the house is hardly ever a case of intentional neglect but lack of time. “Letting someone else clean your home gives you more time to spend with your family,” explains Jean Achterberg, the mother of two small children. “It’s a real time-saver to have someone come in and do things like clean the bathroom and vacuum your floors.”
Signs that you need a maid
So, how do you know if you need help? Danessa Itaya, director of training for Molly Maids, says there usually are indicators that it might be time to throw in the towel – and let someone else dust with it.
“Most of our customers are really busy and are juggling things like long commutes and long workdays with kids’ schedules and other obligations,” she says. “They just don’t have time to clean.”
Some common indicators include:
Not being able to find things.
Piles or stacks of things you “plan to get to” getting larger by the day.
“Just tidying up for guests” takes longer than an hour.
“It comes down to what’s important to you, do you want to spend your free time cleaning, or do you want to spend it doing things that you enjoy?” Itaya says. “Once people realize how much time it gives back to them, they’ll give up their Starbucks before they’ll give up their maid.”
