Wallpaper a headboard. Frame a length of wallpaper horizontally (i.e. landscape-style) and use it as a headboard. Or take the opposite approach by hanging a length vertically like a scroll.
Frame cool samples. Take flea-market frames, spray-paint them matte black or metallic gold or silver, then fill them with complementary swatches of wallpaper. Mount them gallery-style in a hallway or to create a focal point in any room.
Cover the furniture too. Spruce up a dreary bookcase, sideboard, or cabinet by lining the shelves or the back panel with bold graphic paper. (Love a mod look? Check out Jonathan Adler’s Greek Key and Nixon prints.)
Coordinate/update the lampshades. Cover a lampshade in splashy paper or a textural grasscloth. Note: drum shades work best.
Create coasters and wastebaskets. Need a smaller project to test the waters? Glue wallpaper swatches underneath a Plexiglas rectangle for an inventive placement. Turn a glass tile into a fun coaster. Or add drama to a blah metal wastebasket by hot-gluing frou-frou paper around the perimeter.
